SECRET SPINACH
Your stash, measured against the law

Know what you're holding — and what the law allows.

Secret Spinach tracks your personal supply and compares it, ounce by ounce, to your state's real possession limits. It works right here on this page — and the Android app is in the garden too. No guessing, no mental math, no surprises.

Your stash, measured

Pick your state and program, then log what you're holding. Every category gets a meter against the real legal limit. Your amounts are saved in a cookie on this device only — no account, nothing uploaded — so they're here when you come back. The Grow Room is app-only and isn't on this website.

Nothing saved yet on this device.

Limits as cataloged 2026-10-30 from public sources — general information, not legal advice. The tracker only knows what you log.

From the kitchen — making edibles, step by step

For adults in states where cannabis is legal for them. Home-processing rules differ by state — check yours before you cook, and this is general information, not legal advice. One hard rule here: never use solvents (butane, propane and the like) to extract at home — it's dangerous and illegal in many places. Butter and oil infusions are the safe home methods.

The science in one line: raw flower holds THCA, which does almost nothing until heat turns it into THC — that's decarboxylation — and THC dissolves into fat, which is why butter and oil work.

Step 0 — Decarb the flower ●

Every edible starts here. Skip it and the batch barely works.

  1. Heat the oven to 240°F.
  2. Break the flower into pea-sized pieces — not powder.
  3. Spread it in one layer on parchment paper on a baking tray, and cover loosely with foil.
  4. Bake 35–40 minutes, stirring once halfway. It should come out golden-brown and dry, not burnt.
  5. Let it cool completely before using it.

Cannabis butter ●

The classic base. Makes 1 cup, using 7–10 g decarbed flower.

  1. Melt 1 cup of butter (2 sticks) with 1 cup of water on the lowest heat. The water stops scorching and washes out some green taste.
  2. Stir in the decarbed flower.
  3. Keep it at a bare simmer, 160–190°F — never boiling — for 2 to 3 hours. Stir every 30 minutes; top the water up if it drops.
  4. Cool until you can handle the pan.
  5. Pour through a cheesecloth-lined strainer. Let it drip, then squeeze gently — squeezing hard adds green taste.
  6. Refrigerate at least 3 hours (overnight is best). The butter sets as a solid disc on top of the water.
  7. Lift the disc off, throw the water away, pat the butter dry.
  8. Store airtight and labelled — what it is, the date, estimated strength. Fridge: a few weeks. Freezer: up to about 6 months.

Infused coconut oil ●

Same method, different fat — good for cooking and for people avoiding dairy.

  1. Melt 1 cup of coconut oil on the lowest heat.
  2. Stir in 7–10 g decarbed flower.
  3. Hold a bare simmer, 160–190°F, for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Never let it boil or smoke.
  4. Strain warm through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into a clean jar.
  5. Let it set at room temperature or in the fridge.
  6. Store airtight and labelled with the date and estimated strength. Fridge: several weeks; freezer: months.

How strong is it? Do the math before you eat

More preparations — tinctures, gummies and more — are being researched for the Secret Spinach library and will be added here in this same step-by-step format.

Meters that tell the truth ●

Every category gets its own meter — green, amber, red — measured against the real legal limit for your state and your program. And before you save an amount that would put you over, it warns you first, with the exact numbers, while you can still change your mind.

The law, state by state ●

A built-in law library covers all 50 states + DC — medical and recreational — with every limit shown alongside its source and the date it was cataloged. Where the law is written in dosages or milligrams instead of ounces, the page says so plainly instead of inventing a number.

The Grow Room — app only ●

The Grow Room lives in the Android app only — it's not on this website. Where home growing is legal, it will track your plants against their caps, keep a care log — watering, light, feeding — and follow each plant through harvest, with science-graded growing tips and a supplies shelf.

Private by design — this is the whole point

Status: the website tracker is live.

The stash tracker above works now, on this page. The Android app — with the Grow Room — is in development right now. There's no download yet and it isn't in any store. When it's ready, this page will say so.
